Hand held Bidet Sprayers

Standard issue in many countries around the world and incredibly versatile, hand held bidets or “bidet sprayers” do have a wide variety of uses; from ‘environmentally friendly’ nappy cleaning and the convenient hosing of skid-marks off the toilet bowl, to intimate personal cleansing – not only after regular toilet use but also as a convenient means of maintaining personal freshness anytime (without the annoyance of having to take another complete shower).

If you have never used a hand held bidet previously, it may take a little while for you to become proficient with their use. Please read: How to Use Bidets (Hand-held model). Once you do master the technique for using these wash guns, you will find that you never want to be without one ever again!

We supply both individual parts and complete bidet kits designed with easy ‘handy person ‘installation foremost in mind. Our complete kits either include or can be supplied optionally with: a 3M product which accepts the standard hanger supplied with the wash gun. The special ‘Command’ adhesive strips fasten this fixture reliably to most smooth surfaces and remove cleanly with NO wall damage when required. This useful feature means you can easily take your little personal cleaning aid with you when you move house. It also stops scuff marks appearing on the wall from every-day use, and the frustration of trying to find a stud in the right place (behind the plasterboard) for secure fixing.

Standard masonry plugs and screws are also supplied should you need to fasten to rough wall surfaces such as brick or rendered concrete).

Everything needed is supplied, installation time is usually less than 20 minutes and the only tools normally required are a 10” shifting spanner and multi-grip pliers. Your existing pipe from the wall tap to the cistern tank is simply replaced with the complete assembly shown.Very little mechanical knowledge is required as these parts come already sealed and pre-assembled. Supplied with easy to follow, step-by-step installation instructions with clear explanatory photos, all our products come with the complete assurance of a full 12 month or 2 years (product specific) warranty on all materials and manufacture.

Please be aware that these bidet kits are intended to be installed by the home owner themselves and may not be compliant with local regulations in the particular area or country you live. Plumbers installing this product within Australia will normally be required to ensure water supply is protected by an RPZ valve (usually after the water meter). An exception to this rather costly requirement is when the water supply to the bidet or toilet is only from rain water tanks. To avoid misuse; we therefore recommend hand-held bidets be not installed where the likelihood for irresponsible use may exist. Please see the Backflow Prevention page for more info.

Especially Note: Although these wash guns can easily tolerate momentary pressure surges well over 800pkPa; warranty will be voided if subjected to a constant (static) water supply pressure in excess of 350kPa(50psi). Unless you are able to positively verify (with a suitable gauge like the one shown left) that static water supply pressure at the place of installation is under this amount; we recommend you only buy a kit with the pressure limiting valve.

One common mistake many people make here, is to think that by simply reducing the water flow with the tap on the wall, this will somehow also reduce water pressure. Only a pressure limiting valve can do this!

Water pressure over the recommended maximum amount WILL eventually result in premature failure of the handpiece or the hose (depending on the model); and this in sometimes as little as 1 month. All handheld bidets (for user convenience) utilize a similar type of seal that shuts with the water pressure – and must be pulled back against the water pressure with a plunger type mechanism to open. This is what makes all handheld bidets susceptible to failure from high water pressure – regardless of the make or model (or the advertising blurb).

If you do not use an approved PLV & your Hand-held bidet fails due to excessive water pressure;  warranty will be voided!

• The industrial grade Australian RMC valve we sell with our complete kits has a durable stainless steel seat, and can normally be expected to last up to 10 years or longer. Please note that the smaller (and much cheaper) chrome models sold have a plastic seat, and as such are intended for steady, low volume delivery to water filters & coffee machines etc. Service life of these cheaper PLV’s can be as short as only 6 months when used for high volume, abrupt stop-start applications like hand held bidets.

• The internal mechanism of pressure limiting valves must also be protected by a suitable filter – otherwise any little bit of rubbish in the water supply could lodge on the seating surface; causing the valve to not only leak pressure, but possibly also causing permanent damage to valve seating surfaces. We incorporate a fine stainless steel mesh filter into the inlet of our PLV assembly. This protects not only the mechanism of the PLV, but also the non-return check valve in the isolating tap and the water shut-off seating surfaces in the bidet itself.

All this careful forethought & tested quality means that when you buy a Hand-held Bidet Kit from LuSan Bidets, you can confidently leave the bidet isolating tap turned on. This provides the obvious advantage of convenient operation – you don’t need to first grope somewhere behind you to open an isolating tap.

OK then; which Complete Kit should you buy?

• If you are connecting to a Municipal (Local Council) water supply – you will need the PL version (with the RMC pressure limiting valve). Remember public water supply pressure in Australia is much higher than is common overseas (in Australia this is normally between 500-600kPa).

• If you are connecting to a water supply coming only from rainwater tanks, or anywhere else static water pressure is measured at under 3.5bar / 350kPa / 50psi; you should be OK buying the kit without the PLV.
  Please note however, that if you have underground water tanks or a double story house; pressure pumps designed for these scenarios may also be outputting pressures in the vicinity of 500kPa/73psi (and in this case you would also need the pressure limiting kit).

Hand held Bidet Complete Kits

Please Note: These kits are primarily intended for home-owner installation.
They are NOT suited to plumbers installing Hand held Bidet Sprays into new buildings – unless all mandatory backflow prevention regulations have been correctly addressed.

Please also note that only the “Hang” (white) bidet kits come standard with a 3M stick-on Wall Station. Available in white or chrome; this convenient solution can be be purchased as an optional extra – with the more expensive kits where required.
Especially handy for plasterboard walls; these 3M Wall Stations do make fastening the hanger to any smooth surface very easy, completely eliminating the need for any drilling. Also handy for rental premises; they make it very simple to remove the hanger at a later date – leaving no wall damage.

Replacement Wash Guns

Please note that water supply pressure to all hand held bidets MUST be limited to under 350kPa (50psi) or warranty will be voided. Higher than recommended water pressure will result in premature failure of the wash gun itself, the supply hose, or both (depending on the model).

Especially Note: simply restricting water flow with a tap will not reduce water pressure! Most places in Australia have water pressure typically between about 500 – 600kPa. Where water pressure is over the recommended limit, a pressure limiting valve will be essential. Aust/NZ regulations also require that appropriate backflow protection devices must be fitted with all hand held bidet installations.
Discounts are available for customers bulk buying quantities of 5 -10 (or more) of these items at the same time. Plumbers are reminded that when installing these products within Australia and New Zealand; public water supply must be protected with the mandatory backflow protection devices.
