Lusan Bidets.com is a wholly Australian owned business, based in Brisbane, Qld. and managed by husband and wife team Les and Usanee Thrush. Our business ethos remains both time-proven and simple:

We sell only quality products – that do provide practical solutions to a very genuine need, and we aim to treat customers: just the same way we ourselves would like to be treated.

Origin of the business name:

Lu – a combination of our first names, is also a phonetic reference to the old English slang term for toilet - “loo”.

San – the second part of the name – is simply short for sanitation.

Sanitation: “The state of being clean and conducive to health” - defined by Wikipedia as: “the hygienic means of preventing human contact from the hazards of wastes to promote health.

The term “sanitation” can be applied to a specific aspect, concept, location, or strategy, such as:

Basic sanitation – refers to the management of human feces at the household level. This terminology is the indicator used to describe the target of the Millennium Development Goal on sanitation.

The United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) include a target to reduce by half the proportion of people without access to basic sanitation by 2015. In December 2006, the United Nations General Assembly declared 2008 ‘The International Year of Sanitation’, in recognition of the slow progress being made towards the MDGs sanitation target. That year aimed to develop awareness and action to meet the target. Ongoing concerns of particular importance are:

.

  • Removing the stigma around sanitation, so that the importance of sanitation can be more easily and publicly discussed.
  • Highlighting the poverty reduction, health and other benefits that flow from better hygiene, household sanitation arrangements and wastewater treatment.

LuSan Services was founded in 2005, on the belief that many Australians were looking for a more hygienic and comfortable after-toilet cleaning method than that offered by just dry paper. Initially, we looked to supply only the demand for hand held bidets; coming mainly from people of European, Indian, Asian and Middle-Eastern countries (who traditionally clean with water after toileting). Deservedly popular in many countries around the world; there are some unique problems associated with fitting these efficient cleaning aids to many western toilets.

  • Domestic water supply pressure can vary enormously, and is often far too high in Australia for this application.
  • Western toilets are usually dry areas, and water dripping from the wash gun after use is undesirable.
  • To remain compliant with regulations, appropriate back-flow prevention devices must normally be fitted with bidet appliances, to minimize possible risk for contamination of the water supply to occur.
  • Fastening the standard holder to walls is not easy, as this usually means locating a wooden stud behind plasterboard. Even if a stud is found in the right place, it is not long before scuff-marks start to appear on the wall from every-day use.

In 2009 the business name was changed to Lusan Bidets (pronounced Bee-days) – mainly to better leverage online marketing strategies. We now offer several different types of integrated bidet appliances; all supplied in easy DIY kit forms that can provide effective, reliable and affordable solutions to most, or all of these problems – as required by the customer. The prices of similar overseas products (from competing on-line stores) certainly look attractive until you realize that their kits usually: do not supply everything needed for connection, cannot consistently tolerate high water pressure, frequently leak water on the floor after use, are not suited for attachment to plasterboard walls and may not include any kind of automatic backflow protection device and filter. Check out some of the comments at Reveiw Bidets and you will see that even the most expensive hand-held models do not last if the issue of high water pressure is not correctly addressed.

When you buy from us you have the assurance of a full 12 months – 2 years (product specific) Warranty against defects in workmanship or materials, reliable after sales service including a good range of spare parts, and the considerable advantage of lower cost shipping when purchasing from within Australia. Imported components for our kits only come from reputable or ISO 9001 quality compliant overseas manufacturers. Each individual imported item is also carefully re-checked prior to assembly and packaging for sale.

We believe our bidet kits are not only the easiest to install, but also include the most options, are the most reliable, functional and aesthetically pleasing for the price.
